Railsystem MVII

For the closing ceremony of the Maasvlakte 2 seawall a groundbreaking movie experience was asked. Six LED video screens of 1.5 m wide and nearly 5 m high performed a choreography synchronized with image and sound. Her Majesty Queen Beatrix gave the start signal for the ceremony which was broadcast live on (inter-) national television. To make the challenge complete it took place on the sand of the new land…

Based on an extension of our own e-Motion GRS2500 railsystem Neo  developed six active cars. The position of the carriages was communicated to a media server (d3 Technologies) for the synchronization by means of a self-written protocol. The cars drove over a 40-meter track.

During the show each carriage had about 40 different cues running in 5 minutes. As a final highlight Neo provided a 40m wide falling curtain to make the closing visible to the public.
